yahoo messenger using iPhone Messages app

A friend wants to communicate with me using yahoo messenger. As a result, I got a yahoo email/messenger account. I am trying to send a message, using iPhone Messages, to send from my yahoo messenger to her yahoo messenger. In other words, using iPhone Messages, I want to send it in a way that it would actually show up in yahoo messenger if I were to log into yahoo messenger using the web interface. Can anyone help?
