Q: It shows"unable to verify account name or password" in Mac mailbox after I updated my individual mailbox password

I updated my 163 mailbox password and tried to update it in the Mac mailbox, though when I type in the new password it showed"unable to verify the account name or password". What should I do to reconnect my account to Mac mailbox?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Thank you fro your reply, however this did not solve my problem. The mail account used to work, just after I updated the password it continued to show "unable to verify the account name or password."

If the computer is continually asking for your password, the following article should be of use: If Mail on your Mac keeps asking for your password

If you continue to have difficulties, might I recommend another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.

Hello,

I'm having similar issues with my mail app on my iMac and iPhone, "unable to verify account name or password" yet my iPad works and I can access my mail through live.com. Exact same issue with my wife's iPhone and Macbook yet her iPad mini works.
