Performance issues can relate to the combination of various software you may have running in
the computer, some of it may pre-date the usefulness of original intent in a later system. So that
would be something to learn about; if out-dated, no longer useful, update or remove entirely.

Be sure to create and maintain suitable versions of backups (plural) so as to enable your own
regimen of recover and restore systems for offline and local computer use; several externally
enclosed hard drive storage options are advised; note examples from OWC that could be used
with Time Machine. Consider external iTunes, iPhoto, music library relocations... and Clones.
