Q: how do i find the itunes backup files on the hard drive?

I am finding that my C drive is getting full because of the directory, Apple computer and its iTunes files are getting too large from the constant daily back up. Can someone help me to direct to the source of the files and whether if I move it to alternative drive D, will it still function in backing up when I plug in my iPhone? Thank you for your help. Kurt
