Q: error 48 after restore

Hello to everyone. My girlfriend have an iPhone 4s. She activated the passcode 2 days ago, but the password was not recognized by the phone (says that is an incorrect one). I found some tips on Apple support, to delete the iPhone from iCloud account for remove the password, and also to restore the phone. I connected the iPhone to wireless connection, and I deleted the iPhone. It comes a restore, i logged into iCloud account, but I had some problems at activation (It said that the server is unavailable), which persisted whole day. The alternative way, was to connect the iPhone to iTunes and make a restore. I connected the iPhone to iTunes, set a restore and update option and go ahead. But the problem is now, that every-time close to the end, show me an error (on Mac-error 48, on Windows-error 1). I can't pass this error.

Also, i made a call to Apple support, they tells me that the iPhone is unlocked and to call the service provider. I made this too, but they said is an Apple server error, or an hardware problem.

I wonder how is this possible, that 2 days ago the iPhone still worked fine and after a restore the iPhone have an hardware problem or whatever they said.

Anyone with a solution ? Thanks !

Get help with iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support

very rarely is the activation server unavailable.

How was the phone unlocked?  By the a 3rd party or by the phone carrier - only the carrier that the phone is locked to is authorized to unlock it.

Base on your description sounds like the phone was hacked to unlock it and when you restore the phone it locked back up to the original carrier.

Do you have an anti virus software? Maybe there's the problem. Try to create an rule for iTunes or turn the software for a short time off. Maybe iTUnes run then...

I have this same issue - error 48.  Rogers unlocked my phone.  No anti-virus software on my phone.  Had the wireless antennae fixed. No solution yet, but maybe crash related to moving to IOS 9.  Going to Apple store on Monday for a fix.  Poor customer management on Apple's part.  Apple should have put a block in place to prevent trying to upload incomptable software.
