Mar 8, 2016 12:32 PM in response to joelsfby lllaass,If your iPod only has four rows of apps on the Home screen plus the dock row your iPod can't go to iOS 7 or beyond.
Only the 5G and 6G iPod can go beyond iOS 6 and the 6G original came with iOS 8.
The 5G and 6G have 5 rows of apps and the dock row.
If yo do not have a 5G iPod then yo maybe able to get the latest version compatible with your iPod
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
