Most Websites Are Not Loading On All Browsers

Hello,

2 weeks ago my MacBook Pro was working just fine and I used it on the internet using an Ethernet Cable for the 1st time. I then had to travel and got back 2 days ago without it. When I tried using it via my WiFi router I realised that most websites are not loading on safari, chrome, firefox etc. Only Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Apple.com, Google and Yahoo are working. When I try other websites I get messages like;

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.

If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

and

Safari Can't Connect To The Server.

All other applications using internet work just fine. My router is also OK. When I use the laptop in Safe Mode everything works fine and I can access the sites but I need my machine in its maximum capacity.

Please help me, I will greatly appreciate it

Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), Mac

This is likely a Domain Name Server (DNS) problem. If you manually enter anything in the DNS fields for your Wi-Fi setup, it over-rides the settings provided by your Router.

The best way to dig yourself out of ANY configuration problem, is to set it up again from scratch, by using:

System preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > ( Assist me ) > ( Assistant ) ...

Be sure to specify a new, mnemonic-named "Location" bundle, NOT the default. After you have answered the questions, be sure to click (Apply) and close the window to have the changes take effect. Now that bundle of settings can be applied "all at once" when you are again at this location.

When at a different location, create a new "Location" bundle from scratch, so as not to clobber the one that works somewhere else.

Here is a simple litmus test to see whether your DNS is working. Below are two names for the same web site, Apple.com main page:

http://17.172.224.47

http://apple.com

If the numeric one gets you to apple quickly and easily, but the symbolic one incurs delays, your DNS is not set up correctly.
