Color profile too warm

I recently bought a Macbook Pro and for the first few days didn't think about the screen colors.

I then compared the display to my older Samsung laptop and realised that the screen image was too 'warm' (to much yellow and orange in it). Not hugely so but every outdoor photo looked like it was photographed toward sunset !

I went to colour profiles, adjusted the slider and made a new colour profile. Now the things on screen that are supposed to be white ARE white and not what I would describe as a very pale sepia.

I was just wondering if others had experienced this and why my Macbook Pro was supplied with a 'warm' colour profile ??
