Q: Garage band pan

I have been recording a song for some time now. Today I open it up and the pan is no longer working. I shared the song last night to listen to today for critiquing and there is definitely pan going on. I have done nothing different. This happened a few months ago as well and started working again after a few days. What is the deal?

    Hi ronnie_b77,

If I understand your issue, the pan control in GarageBand is no longer working on your current project, and you had an issue with panning on a different project a few months ago.  What version of GarageBand are you working with?  Your profile indicates you are using OS X 10.5.8.  Is that accurate?  Updating your OS X and application to the latest versions typically resolves a lot of issues.

To address this specific issue, I would suggest is to backing up your computer using Time Machine, and creating a second backup of your current GarageBand projects by copying them to an external drive.

Then uninstall and reinstall the GarageBand application, updating it to the latest version for your operating system.
