itunes doesnt show back up file

Hello there,
i have a backup file stored on my usb drive from my last phone which i copied from the last computer i had but when i try to copy that file into itunes backup folder and try restoring my phone , itunes won't show any backup but it is there in my backup folder.
please help i've got some important files to restore.
