It sounds like you're having issues with your iPhone 6s restarting and giving you a black/gray screen. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great troubleshooting recommendations:
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you see a solid color screen (black, white, or blue)
- Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
- Force restart your device while it's plugged in.
- If this doesn't work, restore your device.
- If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
If you see lines, missing sections, discoloration, or poor image quality
- Try to restart your device. If you can't restart, force restart your device.
- If this doesn't work, restore your device.
- If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
Thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities.
Kind Regards.

Mar 10, 2016 2:48 PM in response to pedro dby holdenbeach125,I went to the Verizon store today because now my phone has been doing this for about 30 hours! They had no idea, called apple and they told me to plug it into the computer to itunes and restore. So I did when I got home, and the device wasn't recognized on iTunes, wouldn't pop up, tried all of the methods for that, for about 20 minutes until I held down the power and home button for about a minute straight which worked for the update. It let me restore it almost all the way, but it said it couldn't update because of the network. Nothing was wrong with it, my wifi has been fine for forever, and my computer is fully updated with iTunes and everything. All I need is to get my pictures off that phone so I can get a new one, and I can't even get my pictures off of it because it wouldn't actually recognize the phone, but for some reason it let me get almost there with the update!
