Q: Apple ID will not sign in on my phone.

My iMessage is not working and my phone will not allow my apple ID password.

iPhone 5, iOS 9.2.1

If I understand your post correctly you are getting an error when trying to activate iMessage on your iPhone. I suggest that you follow through the troubleshooting in the link below.
