Takes too long to connect to websites using wifi

It is taking much too long to connect to websites over wifi on my Time Capsule. Once the connection to a website is established, everything works well and fast. Speedtest.org maxes out on download. It is the time to connect that takes 30-60 seconds sometimes. I put my new Macbook Pro beside a 2 yr old MacBook Air on the same wifi network and pointed them to the same website. They both dragged. When I connected the MacBook Pro to a hotspot and tried a different website, they both worked as expected. I am having no trouble transferring files over wifi, only website connections. Does anyone have an idea what is wrong?

Lastest version of TC, all software at latest release.

This same setup has been in use for at least two years with no changes, all of a sudden I have this long lag before connecting.

You can reset the TC to factory and start again.. that has more hope of working than just restart.

A good test is to plug your MBP into the modem directly by ethernet. (No ethernet port buy a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter).

Power off the modem for several minutes (it can take up to 20 or as short as 5min).. so the old captured MAC address is released.

See if the Mac has any issues.. if it does then the modem or connection is faulty and you need to get Comcast to fix it.

If the Mac works perfectly.. as I expect it will the TC needs replacement.

Sorry I know this is unexpected and after 2 years why does it suddenly fail.. because the TC has unreliable WAN port..

You can keep running the TC.. but if it is slightly less than 2 years old it can still be covered under applecare and apple will replace it.. over 2 years it can be replaced if you have applecare on a computer, ipad or apple TV.

No luck down the warranty route.. then you can keep using the TC but it needs to be bridged to another brand router.

Don't need anything too expensive.. the cheapest TP-Link with gigabit ports is usually what I recommend.. WR1043ND v2 or v3 around US$50 or a bit better ones, like C5 or C7. The TC plugs into that and is still going to work fine for your TM backups and even wireless for the network. Just not handle routing.
