How Can I play YouTube music while browsing on my iPad

Subscribe to YouTube Red. That will enable background music playing on the YouTube app.

If by browsing you mean web browsing, you can keep a Tab open with youtube playing while you browse in another tab in Safari and most other browsers.

Alternatively you can use Slide Over if your iPad supports it, to have the Youtube App opened playing, and slide in Safari or other supported browser by swiping in from the right side of the screen. Youtube does not support full Split view, so the most you'll get is a narrow bar with the browser in it.

You can't stream any media in a background or smaller screen, on the slide over or split screen on iDevices without paying for YouTube's overpriced subscription rate to activate those features!

Every media service on the web is now turning into a monthly bill cost to get features that used to be free from charge.

One of my all time favorite apps on my iPads, Astropad, is thinking about going monthly subscription, now, because they feel that charging customers $50 for their app (the introductory price was $25) is still not enough to sustain their business and app developement model.

I would rather be charged a fair, flat one time cost for an app, than pay a monhtly "conscription" cost!

My Wife and I subscribe to 3 services (Netflix, Hulu Plus w/o commercials and Sirius XM radio. 4, if I count iCloud storage) AND,on top of those, still pay for high speed Internet access.

We subscribe to enough for our entertainment needs.

Our total yearly cost of Internet plus subscription services is nearly $1000 a year!

That is about all I ever want to pay for a year for entertainment services.

Just voicing my opinions on all the service subscription nonsense that I see that is continuing to grow

I wouldn't pay for it but I've never understood using YouTube to listen to music. I use Spotify.
