Will wiping a Mac affect my photos/videos in the cloud?

I need to wipe my MacBook Pro that I currently have all of my photos and videos stored on that came from my 6S +. I subscribe to the $.99 cloud package and now want to simply reformat my MBP due to problems and I just want to make sure that doing this will not affect the photos/videos stored in the cloud in any way and I will be able to re-download them after I reformat. Is there anything I should do prior to reformatting?

Thanks.

Have you checked, if all your photos and videos did already upload? What does the status line at the bottom of the Moments view show? Does it list items as "local only"?

Before you wipe the drive I would check, if your most recent Time Machine backup of your Mac is current, so you are having a current local backup as well.

iCloud Photo Library does not store the faces labels you assigned, also your books and other project will be missing, the videos may download with incorrect dates.
