Q: recording too loud

I love this app! now that that is out of the way - when recording the band - even though I have turned the volume on the iPhone all the way down - this app records at a very large volume that it is clipping and distorting

 

I even put it into a bag to minimize the volume. I 'm going to try and wrap it in a towel next rehearsal.

 

I couldn't find anything about this. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,

    The mic on the iPhone is too sensitive for loud sources. That will never be fixed by an app update.  If you're going to record any source louder than speaking level, you need to buy an ios mic from the music store. If you're recording you whole band, you should buy a stereo ios mic. Make sure it has a "Gain Control". Zoom makes a couple, also: Blue, IK Multimedia, Line6.....
