Q: How do I create separate tracks for violin I, violin II, viola and cello? I only have orchestral virtual instrument.

I would like to simulate music for a small string ensemble, yet I cannot separate by instruments. My garage band only have Orchestral virtual instrument. I was wondering where do I get expansion or if there is something to buy or free?

Kind regards

The Jam Pack Symphony Orchestra has more virtual instruments for strings. The strings come with many articulations, like Trill", Tremolo", pizzicato,  legato, etc.

This JamPack is no longer sold by Apple, but but it came as a part of MainStage, when I purchased Mainstage, which included all JamPacks.

GarageBand 10 will show the JamPacks in the Legacy Section, when they are installed.

Oh, yes, that's what I was looking for! My current version sounds so digital, I need those articulations.
How come they don't sell it anymore? Do you know if I would be able to get older version maybe?

After installing Mainstage launch it, go to the main application menu "Mainstage > Download additional content"

This will open a panel, where you can select additional instrument packages.

Restart the mac after you installed the additional content, so GarageBand will find it.  To be able to use the loops, open the Loop Browser in GarageBand, then click the title "Loops" and select "Rebuild Loop Index".
