Q: EXS24 Trouble

I took a song in audio format and sliced it up and used those sections as sampler tracks in the EXS24. I made quite a few layers like this. After doing this I quit logic (after saving). When I opened the track up again the EXS24 was not playing any of the samples I loaded in. All the notes were there on the piano roll but all that was playing were these dull 'thuds'. Please help me - I loved this track and am devastated at what has happened

Thanks!

    Hi,

did you save the EXS instument after you edited it?

And what do you see after you click Edit in EXS now? Are the samples still in place?
A while ago, all my custom EXS patches stopped working, and after re-indexing Spotlight everything was ok again.

EXS uses Spotlight to locate it's samples, that's why weird things can happen...

    Here's how to re-index Spotlight:

    Hope this helps...

Hi Jaap, thanks for your quick reply.

I saved the project, but I am not sure I saved the EXS instrument directly? Also I noticed that when I open the project a message appears saying 'the EXS24 instrument....... cannot be found' then below 'the previously selected audio interface is not available...the built in audio inputs and outputs of the computer will be used instead for this session'. I tried using spotlight as you recommended but no result unfortunately

Let me know if you have any other suggestions please!
