Q: Best rss feed creation tool for vidos in iTunes U

Dear all,

we've been using iTunes U for several years now but - so far - always uploaded our content (course videos) as collections. We are now considering switching to linking the videos on our streaming server via rss feeds. However, creating the necessary feeds manually is a mess and I wonder how you handle this.

I'd love to have a software that "reads" our folders and files from the streaming server and enables us to easily generate iTunes U rss feeds for every subject. You know any solution for that?

Thanks a lot and best regards,

Philipp

I'm afraid that this isn't much help but I think most people create their RSS feeds manually. At LSE we use a bespoke SQL database to publish video and audio content to our website and also to RSS / iTunes. There are tools available to create RSS feeds (a quick Google search should reveal some) which may accommodate iTunes specific tags for podcast feeds but it's likely that feed data would need to be added manually (as opposed to reading your media folder) and I doubt that they would create feeds with iTunesU specific tags. I have a very vague recollection from an iTunesU seminar run by Apple in London quite a few years ago of there being mention a third party app for creating iTunesU feeds but as I say that was a long time ago. Do let me know if you find a solution though as I'd be interested to see it.
