Q: iPad Mini 1st Generation - 9.2.1 Does Not Sync With iTunes - 11.4 Macbook Version - 10.6.8
Just reset my iPad Mini 1st Generation (WIFI Only) to factory settings, tried to connect it to my iTunes and error message "The iPad “Gemma's iPad” cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes." appears. I have downloaded iTunes again and it is now running on Version 11.4, however iPad does still not want to sync to computer. Have reset computer and checked for software updates. Please help! My Macbook software is 10.6.8 as well.

If you updated your iPad mini to iOS 9 or later, you need iTunes 12.3 and you need Mountain Lion 10.8.5 in order to download that version of iTunes now. You have to upgrade the Mac OS before you can install the latest version of iTunes.
The most recent version of OS X is El Capitan, so if your Mac meets the requirements, you may be able to upgrade all the way to EC. Keep in mind that if you upgrade from Snow Leopard, you may not be able to run some applications that you have on the Mac. Take a look at this.

Before ore you upgrade, make sure that you so some research and make sure that upgrading the OS on the Mac will suit your needs.
