Q: id verification password

Keep getting a message for apple id verification password for a email address i have on my phone.

its a aol account that i am already signed with my password and is working fine.

i havent a clue what its for, but it keeps telling me my id has been locked.

Even when I re set my password it doesnt work.

Any ideas ?

Did you buy the phone second-hand? Perhaps its asking for the PREVIOUS owner's Apple ID & password. In any case, these links may help:
