how do i split stereo to two mono tracks

You could bounce the stereo file in 'split' mode (versus interleaved)

BUT! I think we need some expert advice on this.......

I bounce in split mode and get two mono files. Left and Right. Both files are right there in my bounces folder.

If I import those files into Pro Tools or Live I get two mono files that can be panned left-right to get the stereo image.

Cool!

If I drag left side into Logic, I get a stereo track!

If I drag right side into Logic, I get a stereo track!

Even if I set the tracks to mono beforehand.

What am I overlooking here?

You have to rename the files from their (.L. and .R.) format to get logic to not treat them as an interleaved file.
