MacBook Air (2011) Headphones Jack CITA or OMTP?

I'm trying to find an adapter for my 2011 MacBook Air that would enable me to plug a mono headset with a microphone and a 2.5mm plug into the 3.5mm headphones jack on the Mac.

Apparently there are two kinds of adapters that are physically the same, but wired differently depending on whether it's compliant with the CITA standard or the OMTP standard.

Anyone know which it is?

Apple uses a CTIA/AHJ connector arrangement, but uses a non-standard microphone and volume control signaling method. Simple commands like Play/Pause and Skip however should work across modern mobile devices.
