ipad mini 1 digitizer replaced lcd screen grey bars attempts to boot up

Hi

My sons ipad mini was dropped several times and the screen cracked but later completely broke. The ipad seemed to boot up ok. I have replaced the digitizer but the ipad will not boot up. The ipad screen does not stay on and has grey bars down the middle. I have reinstalled a latest version of software onto it via iTunes but now the ipad attempts to set the language but does not respond to any user interactions and randomly goes through the different languages whilst the screen comes on and then dims again. I have checked all the connections on both the LCD and digitizer and these are all correctly seated. Do you think a reset via iTunes would work given that I have installed a later version of software that has been unsuccessful?

Cheers

Dave

The two concerns I have with your situation are, one, Apple does not sell replacement parts, so it is anyone's guess where your screen came from, and, two, devices are not user serviceable so you did the repair at your own risk. Even though the connections look good, something went wrong. You could try restoring it through iTunes but I would be prepared to purchase a new iPad.
