Where does notes store data? Can't delete PDFs that I want to keep in Notes

Hi there,

Loving the new Notes... but I was wondering where the data is stored if you drag an image or PDF in. I've tried doing that but then finder won't let me delete the PDF as it says it's being used... is there a way to permanently store this data in Notes - and forget about keeping them anywhere else?

Thanks!

Home>Library>Containers>com.apple.Notes>Data>Library>Notes

Home>Library>Group Containers>Group.com.apple.notes

Show User's Library (Home)

The User's Library folder is hidden by default. To unhide: Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.

I stand corrected. They are kept in more than one place…

~/Library/Group Containers/Group.com.apple.notes/Media

~/Library/Group Containers/Group.com.apple.notes/Previews

What is somewhat interesting is, I dragged a wallpaper into Notes and a copy was created in …Media @ 962 KB (same size as the original)

Plus two images in …Previews, one @ 119 KB one @ 417 KB

So, dragging the image into Notes went from taking up 962 KB to 2.46 MB.
