It may help to close the Watch app on your iPhone (if it is presently open) and then to restart both your iPhone and your watch:
- To close the Watch app on your iPhone, double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the app preview;
- Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:
- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
- To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Force restarting your watch should typically only be done as a last resort and if it is unresponsive.
