I hate my MacBook... what to do?

Purchased a gold retina Macbook 6 months ago & I hate it. I have an iPhone (since the 3G), iPad, iMac, apple tv... I love them all. They all work fantastically.

NOT the macbook. It's a pile of turd. It's slow, often unresponsive. Has a dead pixel. It feels like a flimsy piece of junk. It keeps corrupting my hard drive - 3 times in 6 months (took it back to the store & they told me it was my hard drive & I ended up dropping another £50 on a hard drive for it to just happen again).

My iMac is 6 years old & it's faster than the macbook!

Now what do I do? I paid £1049... I can't even get £850 for it on eBay or gumtree... seems no-one else wants this piece of junk either.

Am I stuck with an expensive piece of crap?

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

I don't think you quite understand the post... the macbook keeps corrupting any external hard drive connected to it. Then won't mount the drive...

however the external drives work on the iMac, and work windows pc... so it must be the macbook!!!

1. If the external drives continue to work on your iMac and Windows PC then the drives are not corrupted.

2. If by "external hard drive" you mean USB Flash Drives, then I assume they no longer work on any of your PCs

3. Don't know if you are aware of this recall but… https://www.apple.com/support/usbc-chargecable/

4. You haven't mentioned what adapter you are using to plug the drives into your MacBook.

5. If you have a dead pixel Apple should repair or replace your MacBook.

FWIW, I had a USB Flash Drive fail when plugged into my MacBook for an extended period of time due to heat. It shouldn't affect normal USB or Portable Drives.
