Q: iPhone 6 Plus crash and reboot loop

A few months ago I received a refurbished iPhone 6 Plus as a replacement for one that I shattered the screen on. This was done through Verizon's insurance company Asurion. If I leave the phone on charge as soon as it reaches 100% it will go into a crash and reboot loop. The crash is something I have never seen before where the screen will flash different blocks of colors. For example the top quarter might be green while the rest of the screen is purple. It's done this with an endless amount of color combinations. Then it goes into a reboot loop that sometimes ends on its own but usually I have to force it to shut off and leave it turned off for a minute or so before turning it back on. If I don't wait at least a minute, it will go right back into the reboot loop.

This is incredibly odd to me and in extensive internet searches I haven't been able to find anyone else with a similar problem. I'd hate to have to do a factory reset because I have quite a few apps very intricately organized into specific folders. Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

    Hi there Flyers Panda,

It sounds like your phone is restarting on its own for some reason when you have it at 100% charge. While I'm not exactly 100% sure what is causing the issue yet, it will either be a software issue or a hardware one. To troubleshoot the software for it, quit all the running apps:

Force an app to close in iOS

    1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
    2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
    3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself. If nothing fixes the issue then I would say that there is a hardware issue with the device and it will need repair. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, let us know how that goes!
