Q: My iPod Nano is connected to my Macbook

My iPod Nano (not sure what Gen is it, but it is the latest one, the long edged one) is connected to my MacBook (and it clearly says "Connected; Eject when disconnecting). However, i am unable to see "iPod Nano" (next to the same row as "iTunes Store", "Songs", "Playlists", "Albums" etc.), the option for me to select my device (iPod) should be there for me to sync my iPod and whatsoever, however i do not see it. This is strangely odd and i need assistance, thank you

iPod nano, iOS 9.2

Do you see the iPod on the Desktop, or in Finder window?  If you do, Eject the iPod from there and disconnect it.  If you don't see the iPod there, run Disk Utility.  Do you see the iPod in the Disk Utility sidebar?  If you do, select the iPod and unmount it, then disconnect it.  If it does not appear in Disk Utility either, just disconnect it; you may get an error message.  Quit iTunes if running.  If it's been a while (like a few weeks) since doing a restart on the Mac, you may want to do a restart of the Mac.

Put the iPod into Disk Mode

Run iTunes and connect the iPod (in Disk Mode) to a direct USB port.  If iTunes picks it up, it may prompt you to do a Restore with a message about "recovery."  If you're OK with erasing the iPod, do the Restore.  The iPod should appear in iTunes after the Restore.
