Q: iTunes playlists empty with iCloud music library

In iTunes preferences, I clicked on the option iCloud music library.  I soon noticed that although smart playlists were still populated with songs, most regular playlists were mostly empty.  Most playlists were empty, but a few had one song in them (instead of around 20 or 50 songs).  I searched and found:

If you don't see your content after you update iTunes - Apple Support

which suggested to go back to an older version of iTunes Library.it.  I tried it (and restarted, etc.), but it didn't help.

Any suggestions?  I assume I could simply turn off iCloud Music Library, but I'd like to use it if possible.  I exported my library to an xml file before turning on iCloud Music Library; is there an easy way to import all the problematic playlists from it?

Thanks,

Ric
