Erase Harddrive

I have an old iMac that has been sitting in my basement for several years. It's time to give it away (if anyone still wants it). I have the old installation discs (I started with Tiger and upgraded to Leopard), but I do not have an old wired mouse. I've tried booting up and using the keyboard to navigate, but to no avail.

Can anyone guide me through the process. I just want to erase the internal hard drive. I don't want to pay a professional to do it, and I don't want to buy a new or used mouse.

TIA.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Hmmm, without a $3 wired mouse, FW Target disk Mode would work, if you have another Mac with FW & a FW cable.

Boot the old iMac into FWTDM by holding t key at bootup, with a FW cable connected, the old iMac will show up as a FW drive on the newer one, from there you can erase the drive.
