Even if you cannot read what it says, the last command at the bottom of the Settings screen is Reset Settings. Select this command to reset all iPod settings to the default setting. When you proceeds, you should see the language selection screen.

Mar 13, 2016 12:31 AM in response to crystal68811by Kenichi Watanabe,I may not be understanding your actual problem... Is your problem getting the language selection screen to appear again? Or getting the click-wheel to work? If the iPod is not responding, make sure the Hold switch (at the top of iPod) is NOT in the ON position. If that is not the problem, try doing a Reset (restart) on the iPod (press and hold the Menu and Center buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo)

If the iPod in not working properly after Reset (or the problem is language currently selected), you can always do a Restore on the iPod. This erases the iPod, reinstalls its software, and sets it to default settings.

Mar 13, 2016 12:54 AM in response to crystal68811by Kenichi Watanabe,OK, most of my previous reply applies to click-wheel not working. Confirm the Hold switch (at the top of iPod) is not ON. Do a Reset (restart) on iPod. If those steps do not help, do a Restore on the iPod using iTunes.

Mac OS XIf doing the Restore does not make the click-wheel work, and the Hold switch is OFF, the iPod probably has a hardware problem.

You may be able to find an independent electronics repair business in your area (with Apple expertise) that can do the work, with an Internet search. However, the cost for repair may not be economical. And the exact faulty component is not certain in this case.
