an iPhone 5 and I am unable to hear people that call me talk. They can hear me fine. If I plug in my ear buds I can hear them then. What is the problem
Hi judyfromfond du lac,
I understand you're having problems with people being unable to hear you talk. I'd like to assure you that I'll do my personal best I can so that we can hopefully work this issue out together so you can start using your iPhone again like normal.
Please follow these steps. After trying each step, see if you're still having problems. If you aren't having anymore problems, you can stop there, if not continue completing all of the steps until you've completed them all. After trying all of these steps and you still seem be having problems please post back here and we'll discuss other steps we can try.
I'd also like to note to you that if only one person, or just several people can't hear you I would recommend you reference this support article to them: If you can't hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn't clear on your iPhone - Apple Support. Once they've followed all the steps in there, and they still can't hear you then we can assume the problem may be on the iPhone itself.
- Step 1: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
- Step 2: Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
- If you aren't running the latest software version, you'll need to update your iOS Device: Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
This support article from Apple should also help to: If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support
Hopefully this helps,
John
