Anytime you change networking hardware or ISPs, it is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle of your networking equipment. Please post back your results.

Ok, sorry that didn't help. Please take a look at the following Apple Support article to start the iMessage troubleshooting process. I am assuming that you are not able to use iMessage on your local network and that it works with other Wi-Fi networks ... correct?

Yes, that's correct. When I go to the office it works fine on that network.  It's just when I'm connected to my Airport Time Capsule at home.  The Apple store said that I wouldn't need an additional router.

Thanks for the update. Have you tried going through the troubleshooting article yet? If so, where is failing for either device?

yes, I don't see an option for SMS.  I'm updating software for iPad, and trying to see if there is an update for my macbook pro.

By "I don't see an option for SMS" are you referring to the "Send as SMS" option in your iPhone's Settings menu?

As you know iMessage uses iMessage for texting between Apple devices; it reverts to SMS for all others. To use SMS your cellular service must be enabled for SMS. I am assuming that it is.

One thing to check is if you have SMS Relay activated:

    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding
    • If any device is enabled, temporarily disable them.

If they are none available or they are already disabled, try toggling the iMessage service. Settings > Messages > iMessage

If that still doesn't help, try signing off, then signing back into your Apple ID. Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Select your Apple ID > Sign Out. Repeat to sign back in. Finally, toggle iMessage off/on again.

From a networking perspective, what is the exact model of your Time Capsule, and the make & model of the Internet modem that it is directly connected to by Ethernet?

Please reread my post and try to answer each of my questions. If you don't understand something that I have written, just ask.

From this response are you telling me that SMS works on your iPhone, but not the other iOS devices? If so, the SMS is NOT being blocked by the Time Capsule, and the issue may be the SMS configuration on these other devices.
