Soft tonic pop up...Please help

This pop up showed up on my Mac (late 2012) when my mom was using Google Chrome. It will not let me close the whole web page, but I am able to see the other web pages that were already open. Is this malware or a virus? Also, any ideas on how to get rid of it? Is it as simple as selecting "Prevent this from creating additional dialogue?" When I tried to close Chrome out completely, it was grayed out, and something new showed. It is the second picture and says "Warn before quitting $1."

Any help is greatly appreciated!

This is a scam you can ignore. But don't click on any links or dial a phone number. Force Quit the browser. HOLD the SHIFT key when you restart it. This should allow you to close the window and regain control of your browser. The following should also be of help.

  1. Malwarebytes
  2. Remove adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac
  3. Stop pop-up ads and adware in Safari - Apple Support
  4. DetectX 2.11
