Since I reinstalled my iMac after replacing my hard drives Aperture takes as much or more than 10 minutes to see the connected iPhone and the same to get a listing of pictures to download. I don't have a lot of pictures on the phone since each time I download I delete them off of the phone and my library is also relatively small, less than a 1000 or so images. I'm using El Capitan 10.11.3 and Aperture 3.6 and I show all updates are current.
