Built-in iDVD software problem

Dear all, I'm using a late 2009 iMac with built-in iDVD software. When I try to burn an iDVD project (created from an iMovie of still photos and music) it takes a while and goes through the normal steps then pops out the DVD and says "DONE" (see attached) however still has a couple of minutes to go. Also the DVD has no data on it. It's not the burner because music burns on the discs fine. Can anyone please help me? I need to urgently burn a 20 minute wedding DVD imovie / iDvd project as my friend has lost the original disc! Thanks in advance for your help!

First follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:

Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.

To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.

Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

See if you can create a disk image that will play with DVD Player correctly. If you can do that then use quality media and burn to disk at the slowest speed possible.

If the version of iMovie allows Share to iDVD do not use it. Instead the movie should be exported out of iMovie at Medium (640 x480) or, with newer iMovie apps, 480p. Make sure that the export movie plays correctly with Quicktime Player before adding to the project.

Also make sure you have a minimum of 25 GB free space.
