Why are downloads taking long on my new mac air?

Hi!

I've just bought a macbook air about a month ago with El Capitan. But any downloads online, such as dropbox or creative commons material such as pictures, audio and video are taking abnormally long. My internet connection works really well, the computer's memory is not full, and the apps/material downloaded are not so big either. What's wrong? Can I do something to fix it?

MacBook Air, iOS 9.2.1

It sounds like your downloads from the internet are taking longer than expected. There can be a couple of causes for an issue such as this ranging from network interference, to improper router configuration for Mac OS/iOS. First take a look at this article about causes of interference:
