Mar 13, 2016 9:36 AM in response to tpeterlaby FoxFifth,If you don't have a local Apple Store and don't want to buy online from Apple, another possibility is an Apple Authorized Reseller. You can use the following to find one near you: https://locate.apple.com/country

Mar 13, 2016 10:24 AM in response to tpeterlaby Allan Jones,Apple has been resistant to licensing the manufacture and sale of the MagSafe technology to other companies so I suspect you will be doing business with Apple for a new one, either directly or through an Authorized Reseller or Service Provider.
If it is the small diamter cord that goes between the computer and the body of the charger, you must get a new charger. The cord cannot be separtely repalced. This firm has Apple chargers in bulk packaging that save you some money:

We don't know where you are in the world but the firm I linked ships to some locations outside the US. Check their site for details. I've bought thousands of $$$ worth of Mac gear from them over the years so they are, for me, a trusted vendor.
EDIT: Dear OGELTHORPE--Oops! I was called away from the computer while composing and didn't check for other answers before finishing. Mia Culpa!

Mar 13, 2016 11:38 AM in response to tpeterlaby ManSinha,I have two Apple OEM magsafe 2 85 W chargers that I picked up off E Bay - they have been running fine for several months now - I use them as a travel charger and one at work
Look for the Apple logo on them - at least in my case I seem to have lucked out!

Jul 31, 2016 1:28 PM in response to Allan Jonesby arisbj,Thanks for your advice. So macsales.com got two people's endorsement. My original 45W Magsafe 2 cord is frayed near the end connecting the laptop, and you said this part of the corded can't be repaired so I'll need to get a new adapter. I saw they are selling the adapter bulk packaged. Is it going to be identical to an adapter bought directly from apple? Thanks!
