Read this noting the last two paragraphs:

Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

You can try adding onto your password as suggested or turn the feature off and then sign in.

I am having the same problem ever since I used my iPhone on an out-of-state vacation.  When I returned home, my Apple TV won't let me log in.  I keep getting a message that I need to enter a verification code, sent to another trusted device.  I get the verification code OK, but am having no success at entering it on Apple TV.  It tells me I should enter my password followed by the verification code into the password field, but it doesn't tell me HOW to enter it.  In other words, I've tried entering it immediately following my password (with no spaces between); putting a space between my password and the six digits; putting a space between the first three digits and the last (as it appears in the verification message I get); and putting spaces between BOTH my password and the verification code with a space between the first three digits and the last.  In other words, I've tried to enter this verification code in every permutation I can think of, but it's always rejected.  I finally had to turn off two-step verification to get into my Apple TV, which I really didn't want to do.

So, when asked to enter the 6 digit verification code into Apple TV, how/where am I supposed to do that?  This is really frustrating me.

As I'm sure you have noticed, if you searched this site, you're not the only one having this problem. An expert posted in one thread, but he never actually had to do this. It may be an actual bug in the ATV software.  You should add your name to the list of complaints at https://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html and hope that someone who has succeeded replies here. BTW, you only need to disable 2-factor for the time it takes to login on ATV. You can leave it enabled the rest of the time. Not handy, but effectve, until Apple gets around to fixing it.

Hi. Not sure what you're looking for here. I really have no idea where your code went. What is your actual problem? Have you tried disabling the two-step authentication process before logging in on the Apple TV?
