Messenger not working, cannot open messages. Constantly says installing , but it doesn't . Cannot delete to try and reinstall

Update your iOS to latest.

Delete the FB messenger app & reinstall to ensure that you have the latest available.

If no joy, it is a FB issue... contact them for support (good luck) > Messenger Support (from https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/messenger/id454638411?mt=8 page)

I know this is an old question, but the solution is to

• Open settings
• Under General section
• Click on Storage and iCloud Usage
• Click on manage storage (last line of the first table)
• Click on the desired app
• Then delete the app

There a BUNCH of "messenger" apps... To which do you refer?

i got the same problem.it nither it can be deleted nor can be opened.

i got a same isuee but its little different it caant be opened and cant be deleted too..it stucked so how to get rid of it
