Do you have the latest version of iTunes.

Check if you have any updates under HELP>Check for updates.

Also, check if your computer needs any updates.

If you can't get into iTunes to check the update go ahead and uninstall iTunes and reinstall iTunes.

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support

Remove these in order in the control panel:

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:

    1. iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4. Bonjour
    5. Apple Application Support 32-bit
    6. Apple Application Support 64-bit

Then, go to apple.com/iTunes and re-download iTunes, this resolved my issue when I was using a windows 7.

I have done this--uninstall and reinstall 2 times. Same results. I have 2 year old Dell-Win 8--Chrome. ITunes completely freezes my whole computer. Today's date is 3/14/2016.

Did you solve this problem some other way?  I have encountered the same thing, a sudden onset of ITunes freezing my entire computer within the past week.  I knew to uninstall and reinstall Itunes, but it also didn't help. I will attempt to uninstall everything they mention above and let you know how it goes.

I uninstalled everything they said above in the exact order given above, and then reinstalled itunes.  It is still completely hanging my entire operating system.  Not sure where to go for help, as they'll probably just have me repeat these steps yet again and then say it has something to with my own computer which has not had any updates as of late.

I apologize for the slow response.

The same day of my original post, I tried waiting after iTunes froze my computer and it unfroze after about a minute or two.  So, it's just a matter of waiting for your computer to unfreeze.  It's annoying, but iTunes hasn't froze my computer since.

    Thank you.
