Javascript problems

When I go to some sites that have Flash aspects the flash part doesn't display. It says that I need a plugin to view the flash part. The site I'm looking at is www.hgtv.com. What makes me think that it's a problem with javascript, is that I looked at the code for the website, and the flash is wrapped in javascript, like so:

"<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
var swfUrl = "http://web.hgtv.com/webhgtv/images/homepage/flashHighlights/highlightPlayer_11 -27-06.swf";
var sHGTVPreviews = getFlashObj (swfUrl, 488, 325);
writeFlashObj(sHGTVPreviews);
</script>"

Now, if I copy the url for the flash movie, and paste that into my browser, it displays just fine. Other websites that don't have their flash wrapped in javascript also display fine. Any ideas?
