Q: How do I clear "Other Storage" on my MacBook Pro?

I have searched the community for this topic and also the web in general and I've done everything I have found thus far.  I've transferred most movies, photos, and music to an external hard drive in order to free up space.  My hard drive has 120 GB of storage, and it's now showing that 82 of that is "Other." Photos taken up 14.5, movies taken up 10.5, Apps take up 8.5, Audio takes up 1.5 and Backups taken up 6.  After having transferred files, that "Other" number more than doubled, as before it was at around 40 and I transferred music, photos, etc. to free up space.  After doing that, the Other space increased significantly!  I'm confused!  I have no idea how to find where that's coming from or how to get rid of it.  I use my MacBook for your typical day to day things - downloading/listening to music (I now use iTunes Match so that music isn't stored locally), editing photos and videos, etc., and then surfing the web.  Does anyone have any input on this that I haven't found yet?  I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but I'm running El Capitan.  I'm about to give up and just go to the Apple Store to talk to someone at the Genius Bar.

Thanks so much!
