Q: help?

I recently just purchased an iphone 6s plus 16gb using current up to date software at iOS 9.2.1, when purchasing my phone i bought it from at&t brand new full retail price and i use the go phone services with it (not sure if this would have anything to do with it?). Upon starting it up and activating it and all that stuff i noticed there was no imovie or garage band or anything like that. I then go into the app store and i see that they have a cost to purchase them. Now i may be wrong but i thought they were suppose to be pre installed apps ready to go?... Just really wonder if you actual have to purchase them if they are supposed to be "pre-installed apps"? i appreciate any help, thanks.

Neither iMovie nor Garage Band are preinstalled on the iPhone 6s.

They come preinstalled on the iPod touch. Otherwise, they are $4.99 (prices may change) each.

They are free. Try logging in to the App Store and checking in the Purchased Tab.

They dont show, ive logged out then back in (keep in mind this is the 1st iphone ive had so everything was setup for the first time)

I just checked Apple.com and the IOS app store. Both say the apps are $4.99 each.

The Apps are free with the purchase of a new iDevice, as shown at the bottom of the page below.

I purchased the device brand new at full price the only thing i did was put my existing SIM card from a previous android phone into my new iphone i dont know if that would have anything to do with it

Hmm, I sit corrected, and I apologize for being misleading. My personal experience led me to believe differently from what that article says.

It just kinda gets to me haha I'm not sure what it could be my initial thought was they were free apps from Apple when you purchase a new device I just don't know if my carrier/services i use would change or prevent any of that, I could be wrong
