My iphone 4s won't send imessages. I updated to IOS 9.2.1 48 hours ago. I can tap the unsent imessage and change it to an SMS, which will send. But I don't want to have to do that every time. Then the unsent imessage just sits there with the bar not complete, even though the SMS has sent. Since I've had the phone, it would send imessages automatically to Apple phones as long as imessage was turned on and would send as regular SMS if a non-Apple phone. Should I just turn off imessage? I have unlimited texts with my plan, so that's not a problem. I wonder if turning off imessage would mean messages won't go to other iphones using my same wifi at all (eg- my husband's phone in the same house).
