i/Text Messaging on a Macbook Pro

In addition to our iMac, my wife also has an iPhone and a Macbook Pro. She is able to send i/text messages on both our iMac and her iPhone, but not her Macbook Pro. Is this because she can only send from two devices, or can you send from more than two devices, which means there is another issue that needs to be addressed?

Thank you and regards,

Thank you for your response ManSinha, I very much appreciate it!

We have El Capitan on our iMac, OS 9.2.1 on our iPhones, but I'm not certain which OS my wife is running on her MacBook Pro? I'll have to check to see, but my guess is that it's a version prior to Yosemite? Hopefully that's the case and once we update the OS, she'll be able to send/receive iMessages/texts on all her devices.

I'll let you know what transpires.

Thank you again and regards,
