is the ac adaptor for a 5th generation the same as the 4th generation

I have an AC adaptor that was used for my iPod 4th gen. Now I have a 5th gen. Is the adaptor the same?

This question is about iPod touch? The question just says "iPod" although your profile info says "iPod touch." If the subject is iPod touch USB power adapter, the same one should work with both 4th and 5th gen. For example, the smallest Apple (5W) USB power adapter (the one that comes with iPhone)

http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD810LL/A/apple-5w-usb-power-adapter

shows both 4th gen and 5th gen (as well as the current 6th gen) iPod touch under Compatibility. If it's a third-party USB power adapter, it's most likely that it works with 5th gen if it worked with 4th gen. However, the USB docking cable that connects to the USB port is different. 4th gen uses the 30-pin cable. 5th gen uses the Lightning cable.
