See if there's a Liquid Contact Indicator on your iPhone >  Liquid damage to iPhone or iPod isn't covered by warranty

Turn the device off, and leave it off for a while. If it was just a small amount of water, you can try putting the device, powered off, into a sealed bag of uncooked rice for 72 hours. After that, you can try to charge/power the device on to see if that helped. Depending on the amount of water, it can help with minute amounts, but it could have sustained more damage. Make sure you keep a current backup, in case it does show signs of further damage.

BBad idea using a bag of rice, Apple does not recommend it as rice is very dusty and can actually cause more damage.

IF you have AppleCare then you are covered for two cases of accidental damage and can have the phone replaced for a nominal cost.

Unfortunately iPhone is not waterproof. You are lucky one if it still works after contact with water. Usually phones and water do not mix and water damage is not covered by warranty. Corrosion has already started.  You should schedule a genius appointment at the Apple Store to appraise the level of damages. They will offer you the best solution.

Interesting, as I've never seen that. Apple actually makes no mention of rice at all, pro or con. but thank you for your observation. You would be surprised at the number of persons that do not have Apple Care Plus as well, especially the ones that come here asking. Most are looking for a method to try and save their device because they don't have Apple Care Plus and/or the money to replace their devices.

Ttry perhaps several of those small desiccant bags that come with electronics. They are designed to absorb moisture.

All that matters is did any water get inside the phone, and how much, questions to which you don't have answers, So try to dry it (preferably not Rice, the particle issue is real), keep it unplugged  and switched off for several days then switch it on and see what you have.

Apple actually just can't suggest anything like that just because it always does have a chance of ruining the phone. They won't recommend it but they also won't tell you not to do it. But yes just be careful with the water damage, you'll want to get it looked at just to be sure it won't have issues down the line if it's still working at the time.

I'm not the one having the issue here. You need to watch whom you are responding to.
