Q: how do i syndicate someone else's podcasts

A friend already has a podcast series and has kindly agreed to let me syndicate his podcasts via my iTunes podcasts series. How do I go about doing this?

Please see this page for a full description of the process:

When you go to the Podcasts Connect page, sign in with your friend's Apple ID and password (the same that he uses for the iTunes Store if he has a different one for iCloud etc.).

Looking at your question again I think perhaps you mean include his episodes in your own podcast? If that's the case you would need to add them to the feed in the same way as you add your own, using the URLs of his media files (these don't have to be on the same server as the feed, they can be anywhere). You would write in the descriptions in exactly the same way as if they were your own episodes.

If this isn't what you mean, or what I assumed earlier (submitting his podcast separately on his behalf), please explain in detail what you want to do.

One thing worth clarifying is the terminology, because it can cause confusion. A podcast is the 'wrapper' for a number of episodes - a lot of people refer to episodes as podcasts, but doing this can cause confusion as to what you're referring to.

    Hi Roger

Many thanks for this. You are right; I am looking to add the episodes from a friend's podcast series to my own new series, with his permission. This is very helpful and I will look into it straightaway.

    Kind regards
